Pet-Friendly Chicago
We love Chicago - and Chicago loves pets! So we want to share with you some of our favorite pet-friendly businesses in town.
Indoor Dog Park
Bosly’s Backyard
4011 N. Ravenswood Ave., Chicago, IL 60613
Not all dogs do well in outdoor urban dog parks. In a big city like Chicago many people lack backyards where their dog an exercise and explore their surroundings leash free.
Bosly’s Backyard is a one-of-a-kind, indoor private play space where you can spend time with your dog —one on one. And unlike dog parks and day care, your dog can play off leash without interference from other dogs or the outside world.
You can book 30–60-minute individual play sessions. You can also sign up for training as well as photoshoots and other dog friendly events.
Cat Cafe
Catcade Café and Rescue
624 W Belmont Ave, Chicago, IL 60657
The Catcade is a non-profit, arcade-themed cat rescue, lounge, and a cat café. The lounge simulates a home environment. Cats are not kept in cages, instead they get to live in a lounge type atmosphere.
You can bring your laptop (free-Wi-Fi), attend a cat yoga class. or play video games while you hang out with the adorable kitties. All the cats are adoptable except for the long-term resident, Leo. You might even meet your new furry family member here. The entry fee goes to directly help offset the cost of medical treatment for the cats and operating expenses for the shelter.
Pet-Friendly Restaurants
Farm Bar
Lakeview & Ravenswood locations
A dining destination for all things Midwestern, Farm Bar’s affection for canines is well known — much of its produce comes from its owners’ own Brown Dog Farm in the Driftless region of western Wisconsin. Dogs can join their people for a meal or drink on the rooftop.
The Sofo Tap
4923 N Clark St., Chicago, IL 60640
This casual, LGBTQ-friendly neighborhood pub holds “doggy days” from noon to 3 p.m. every Saturday. It’s a chance for patrons to snag half-priced draft beers, and for pups to indulge in free treats.
Patio at Cafe Brauer
2021 North Stockton, Chicago, IL 60614
Take your dog for a run through Lincoln Park and take in the exciting sights and sounds. This patio café on the picturesque Nature Boardwalk welcomes canines, so lounge away with an al fresco meal.
Eden

Pet-Friendly Coffee Spots

This place not only delivers great coffee, tea and pastries in an inviting atmosphere but they also raise money for Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC). 50% of the sales of branded merchandise are donated to CACC. Throughout the shop there are photos of dogs dressed in Victorian clothes that are housed at CACC. They also sponsor dog adoption events in front of the store in conjunction with CACC.
