About Purrfect Paws

Faith Korey (owner)

Faith volunteered for over 20 years in Cat Adopts and Cat Socialization at the Anti-Cruelty Society in the River North area of Chicago. In that role she trained new volunteers on handling, care; and socialization of the shelter’s animals. She currently volunteers as an adoption screener for Forever Fortunate Felines.

She has been an animal lover her entire life and passionate about caring for others’ companion animals. As many of her former cats have lived to a ripe old age, she is very familiar with insulin injections, administering pills and giving hydration/fluids. She also is certified in pet CPR/First aid as well as a certified Professional Pet Sitter through Pet Sitters International.

Faith currently shares her home with two companion cats, Catpernicus and Tabbygail Adams, as well as a lively cockatiel, Sushi.

Prior to opening Purfect Paws, Faith managed compensation and benefit programs for mid-sized to large corporations for over twenty-five years. She is a resident of the Lincoln Square neighborhood in the city for over thirty five years. In her free time, she designs jewelry, travels internationally (catsitting in Paris each summer), rides her bike or power walks along the lakefront with her husband.

Catpernicus

Catpernicus is a Flamepoint Siamese born 7/4/23 and is a larger version version of his younger “sister” Tabbygail Adams. He was adopted from Forever Fortunate Felines Rescue.

Catpernicus is a curious, vocal, mischievous little firecracker.

My brother in Germany is a curator of scientific instruments such as old telescopes and astronomical clocks and suggested the name.

We were in love with this boy the minute we saw his photo.

Tabbygail Adams

Tabbygail Adams a Flamepoint Siamese is the newest member of our family. She was born 6/1/24 and adopted recently from Forever Fortunate Felines Rescue.

She’s named for Abigail Adams (wife of the second President, John Adams) who was an outspoken advocate of women’s education and property rights and a vocal opponent of slavery. Like her namesake, Tabbygail is vocal and assertive. She is a mini me version of her big «brother» Catpernicus, whom she adores.

Sushi Annie Yakatori

Sushi is a white face cockatiel with three sisters. She was born in 2008 and adopted when she was three months old. Sushi loves to supervise the activities of her feline “brothers”, bobble head on command, and imitate high pitch sounds like doorbells.
